The University of Minnesota is almost a city unto itself. However, the campus is just an island in the midst of a large, vibrant, diverse city: Minneapolis! Too often, students spend their years on campus without exposing themselves to the realities of the city around us. Here's a great opportunity to fix that.
God loves the city because he loves people. When Israel was sent into exile by their enemies into Babylon, God told the his people to "seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare," (Jeremiah 29:7).
We have the opportunity to seek the welfare of Minneapolis, to learn about the city, to serve people, expressing the love of Christ with our actions and words. This will be a great opportunity for true fellowship -- a community of believers serving on mission, with God and the Gospel at the core.
("God of this City" by Chris Tomlin is the perfect theme song!)
Spring Break Ministry Experiences
Source Annex (Saturday)
Source Annex is a transitional home for victims of sex trafficking and prostitution. We'll do manual labor in the construction phase of the home.

We'll get a full presentation on their ministry, and then serve in various capacities, including meals on wheels, prayer, client interviews, organizing, and manual labor.
Feed My Starving Children (Tuesday)
Feed My Starving Children is a ministry committed to providing meals for malnourished children across the globe. We'll be assembling meals for shipment overseas.
